Quality improvement is a collaborative effort involving all healthcare professionals making the necessary changes that will lead to better patient outcomes and better healthcare system performance. The goal of quality improvement is to continuously enhance the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare services.
This course focuses on the importance of monitoring performance measures for healthcare professionals and solidifying the connection between healthcare delivery and patient satisfaction.
This course will begin by discussing how measuring and evaluating health outcomes can help with understanding how well an organization is delivering services and where improvements are needed. Participants will identify several performance and patient satisfaction “indicators”. These indictors exist to provide the information needed to determine how well an organization is delivering care. During the course, participants will learn how to gauge for quality improvement opportunities and use the performance indicators to provide assurance that care is being delivered safely with the intended results. Upon completion of this course, participants will recognize the connection between good data collection and good care coordination.
